Dr Tim Devanney

Tim leads NHSE (WT&E) Learning Disability and Autism Programmes.

Tim has worked in health and social care roles since 1990. He started in social care before training and working as a nurse. Throughout his career he has worked extensively on education and training programmes, as well as safe staffing across inpatient and community learning disability and mental health services. Prior to his time at NHS England and the former Health Education England Tim worked in the Midlands, leading on education and development, nursing, and quality. He has conducted research into implementation of clinical guidelines, organisational change, and staffing tools.

Tim as led the development and delivery of the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism from its origin and is proud of the changes the training is making.
