Head of Development and Income Generation, Dentaid

I feel very lucky to have joined Dentaid The Dental Charity as the charity expands its reach across the UK. Our mobile units help those most in need in our society who are unable to access dental treatment. Personally, I have suffered severe toothache in the past and it affects your sleep, your mood and your ability to do anything. If I can help anyone in this situation to feel better, I will have done a good job!
I joined the charity as fundraising manager in September 2019 having previously worked for Turning Tides - a Worthing-based charity helping people experiencing homelessness - for 13 years. I was promoted to development manager in April 2020. Over the next few years, I helped increase our reach across the UK from 56 clinics per annum in 2019 to 274 in 2022, to 446 in 2023/24 and an anticipated 900 in 2024/25.
We have grown our fleet of mobile dental units from 2 to 11 plus a trailer.
A major part of my work has been the development of relationships for the charity with many councils and organisations ensuring a diverse reach of clinics. Over this time, I have also helped Dentaid’s income increase by more than 500%.
My passion is to ensure that as many people as possible have access to dental healthcare irrespective of their situation in life.
I am very excited to see where we can take Dentaid The Dental Charity in the future and just how many people we can help on an annual basis.
