Samina is a seasoned senior Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) professional, with an impressive track record spanning over two decades in various fields including public health, mental health commissioning, integrated and placed based care, service development and HR/OD practice. Samina has extensive expertise and experience in the design, delivery and management of EDI strategies, large scale organisational programmes and is deeply passionate about embedding EDI into organisational systems and processes, encouraging it to be ‘business as usual’.
Her expertise encompasses a full spectrum of EDI strategy development and implementation, as well as managing large-scale programs. By emphasizing the integration of EDI, Samina encourages organisations to foster inclusive environments and promote systemic change. This approach leads to more equitable and diverse workplaces where all individuals feel valued and empowered.
Samina was nominated onto the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson leadership programme after setting up the Equality Diversity and Human Rights shared service model for the Greater Manchester CSU in 2013, achieving an MSc (Merit) in Senior Healthcare Leadership.
Samina was also part of the first cohort of graduates on the NHS Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) Experts Programme, a national programme to develop race equality experts across the country.
Samina has widespread experience of working across systems to ensure best possible outcomes for workforce, patients and communities as well as a track record of developing robust engagement and consultation strategies with local communities. Samina is passionate about contributing to reducing health inequalities and creating a fair and diverse society through empowerment, engagement and evidence-based approaches.
Samina currently is a participant on the NHS Confed EDI Directors Programme and advocates for need for collaboration and inclusivity across systems at all levels.
