Consultant Cardiac Scientist, Manchester Foundation Trust, Wythenshawe Hospital

Keith has over 20-years’ experience in all aspects of both non-invasive and invasive cardiac diagnostics. He is clinically proficient in providing and interpreting procedures such as resting ECG, ambulatory cardiac monitoring, echocardiograpy, stress echocardiography, haemodynamic assessments, and monitoring during cardiac catheterisation procedures.

Keith is currently responsible for the clinical leadership/management of the largest UK cardiac diagnostic service at Manchester Foundation Trust and leads more than 140 clinical physiologists/scientists who provide a full spectrum of cardiac diagnostic testing at tertiary/quaternary level.

In addition to providing clinical leadership, Keith actively delivers weekly clinical autonomous diagnostic testing and interpretation in complex areas of cardiac diagnostics, which include specialised assessments in structural valvular heart disease and stress echocardiography. With extensive clinical experience and clinical leadership within a hospital setting, Keith has held multiple national leadership roles, including Vice President and recently President of the British Society of Echocardiography. He acts as Clinical advisor on Echocardiography for the National Diagnostics Transformation Programme and Cardiac Pathway Transformation Programme as the national clinical workstream lead for diagnostics. Keith is the founding chair for the British Cardiac Society Cardiac Physiologists/Cardiac scientists Council and has been locally/regionally and nationally involved in helping to shape the cardiac scientists/physiologist profile.
