Karen is a physiotherapist and has worked as an AHP Rehabilitation Consultant since 2017. She has considerable leadership experience developed through senior leadership and strategic roles.
Karen is passionate about improving quality, equity of access and effectiveness of rehabilitation through transformational change and is the clinical lead for a system wide rehabilitation and reablement programme delivered by Sussex ICB. Sussex is recognised as a leading system in innovative thinking in rehabilitation and has transformed service delivery in intermediate care through the development of a needs-led, proportionate, and tiered matched methodology,

Karen has co-designed the unique Sussex Six Pillar Model, a change framework which enables colleagues to better understand population need and health inequity. This framework has underpinned an innovative approach to to workforce planning and development and facilitated partnership working across health, social care and voluntary community services.
Karen has worked with a number of organisations to provide a series of Vlogs and resources to support others in their enthusiasm to rethink needs-led, person centred care. She has been named CSP Influencer of the year for 2023, for her inspirational and transformational work in rehabilitation.
Karen is a regular contributor to research and educational conferences on her work around rehabilitation modelling, spasticity and transformational culture.
