Started in the NHS as a trainee accountant in 1979 in Colchester following a degree in mathematics at Essex University giving me over 40 years experience of working in the NHS in its various guises. I have work mainly in Financial Management and costing in the Provider Acute Sector of the NHS, but also heavily involved in the early development of Management Budgeting and Healthcare Resource Groups costing. Working mainly at Colchester and Ipswich I also have experience of working at a teaching hospital being out posted to the Royal London Hospital as part of a development Team for patient level costing. Subsequently I worked at Ipswich as initially the Income Manager, but then moved over to Commissioning and Contracting where I lead on the Commissioning Contracts for NHS England Specialised Services and the local Integrated Care Board.
