Ayub Bhayat is the Director of Data Services and Deputy Chief Data and Analytics Officer at NHS England. His NHS career spans almost 20 years since joining as an Information Analyst working on waiting list management.

Passionate about using data to drive decision making, he works alongside clinicians, operational teams and leaders to transform patients outcomes through his work. This has included building the data infrastructure for the Covid-19 Vaccinations programme ensuring vaccines were delivered to the population of England. Ayub has also led the national Business Intelligence services for NHS England providing insight across Specialised Commissioning, Secondary Care Dental, Health & Justice, Armed Forces and Public Health and was also the Chief Data Officer for AGEM CSU.

In his current role, his programme portfolio will transform data services across the NHS ultimately leading to better outcomes for patients. This includes modernising the data architecture and platform infrastructure and also the deployment and adoption of the Federated Data Platform – the first time which NHS organisations are able to bring together operational data to improve patient care such as waiting lists.

Outside of work his wife and two children support his love of good food and Manchester United.
