Annette became a carer in 2016 when her loved one needed support from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Annette is now a carer facilitator. In this role she supports carers who have loved ones that have been admitted to Southwark inpatient wards. Annette also co-facilitates Southwark’s BAME (Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic) carer’s group.
Being a part of an anti-racist organisation is extremely important to Annette. She enjoys working alongside a variety of people who want to be part of the solution to ensure that all communities receive the best mental health care. Annette firmly believes that everyone has the right to be offered great quality of mental health care from The Trust and is doing her utmost to make that happen.
