Andy Evans

CEO, Dentaid

Brought up in Bedfordshire, Andy worked as a consultant project manager before joining Dentaid The Dental Charity in 2014. His first association with the charity was as a trustee when he joined the board in 2012 alongside his wife Rachel who is an oral surgeon. In addition to championing Dentaid’s work overseas, Andy saw the need for outreach dental projects in the UK that provide emergency treatment and oral health programmes for the most vulnerable people in our society. After being appointed CEO, he oversaw the launch of Dentaid’s UK programme which included The Real Junk Tooth Project in Dewsbury and the purchase of a mobile dental unit that provides outreach dental care at support services for people experiencing homelessness and other hard-to-reach groups. In recent years, demand for the charity’s services has increased dramatically and Andy and the team have driven Dentaid forward to help more vulnerable people receive care. The charity now has 11 charity dental units and will deliver over 600 clinics across the UK this year. Now living in the New Forest, Andy also runs two dental practices who often support Dentaid’s fundraising events and UK volunteering programme. In his spare time Andy enjoys cycling, running and swimming and he completed an Ironman Triathlon, cycle and running events to raise funds for Dentaid.
