Partnerships for change: working across the boundaries of health and housing

12 Jun 2024
Charter 4
Best Practice Theatre , Collaboration & partnerships

Safe and secure housing has a central role in maintaining health and wellbeing, supporting a recovery journey and preventing crisis. Housing quality has a direct impact on population health – cold, damp homes exacerbate circulatory, respiratory and mental health problems. The NHS spends £1.3 billion each year treating these preventable conditions. As integrated care systems foster opportunities for partnerships, local leaders are reaching beyond ‘traditional’ health and social care services to address the wider determinants of health.

This session will bring together health, local government and housing leads to share how they’re creating innovative solutions to shared challenges.
