The number of children and young people with a mental health issue has been increasing over the last decade and specifically since the pandemic. Some of these young people will have complex emotional needs, which can be challenging to support. Rates are particularly high for children in local authority care, who may have experienced placement breakdowns, trauma and may have mental ill health or other health issues. This session will highlight how to meet the challenges of supporting this group of young people and potential ways forward for them.
