With responsibility for pharmacy, optometry and dental services now delegated to ICBs, there is greater autonomy locally to transform service delivery and patient experience. This session will focus on optometry, and specifically the approach taken to commissioning urgent care. Delegates will hear how Community Urgent Eyecare Services (CUES) have helped improve access, reduce demand on hospital services, free up GP appointments and enable optometrists to work to the maximum of their training.
