Victoria Cardona

Head of Patient Flow, North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust

Victoria is an experienced NHS Manager and Leader who trained in Occupational Therapy at Coventry University qualifying in 1994. Prior to becoming a manager Victoria had experience of working in a variety of clinical settings including working as a clinician in a Military Hospital and Learning Disability Services before moving to an Acute Trust to develop Therapy Services in Accident and Emergency.

Victoria has worked in various roles as an Operational Manager including managing Discharge Teams, Intermediate Care Services, ward management as Senior Clinical Professional and has gained considerable experience of integrated working with other agencies.

Victoria was appointed to the role of project Lead for Urgent and Emergency Care Standards. This was a national pilot to test new standards for Emergency Care and she gained knowledge, and operational experience of UEC working with stakeholders to test out/ implement new standards and provide feedback/advice at a national level. During the COVID pandemic, Victoria also worked as site incident manager for the trust.

Victoria has a keen interest in quality improvement and service development, particularly relating to patient flow and discharge pathways. Victoria is the lead for discharge/flow and is working to support the development of OPTICA on the Federated Data Platform
