Mr Tim Straughan

Director of Personalised Care (NHS @home), NHS England

Tim is the Director of NHS @home, working within the Primary Care and Community Health Services Directorate and led the national implementation of COVID Oximetry @home and Virtual COVID Wards in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tim is now working on a range of other NHS @home pathways to provide connected, supported, personalised care to people in their own homes. In addition to his NHS @home responsibilities Tim is also leading on the implementation comprehensive model for Personalised Care which includes patient choice, shared decision making, personalised care and support planning, social prescribing, supported self-management and Personal Health Budgets.

Tim joined NHS England in November 2016 and was formerly Chief Executive of the Health and Social Care Information Centre (now NHS Digital). Tim is also qualified dentist and chartered accountant and has also held several other national and local senior leadership roles within health and social care.

In his spare time Tim likes to run ultras and cycle up hills in and around Yorkshire.
