Stuart Lakin
Head of Clinical Transformation Connect Health Care Rotherham
Stuart has worked as a pharmacist for 39 years working in both Primary and Secondary Care. For the last 20 years he was Head of Medicines Management at firstly Rotherham PCT & CCG.
During his 20 years working in Rotherham, Stuart has gained the greatest satisfaction from redesigning pathways of care to make them more patient focused, evidenced based, outcome driven, effective and efficient.
As Head of Medicine Management, Stuart never believed that it was just medicines that required managing, but the complete therapeutic pathway. Get the pathway correct and evidence-based, quality patient care follows.
Empowering health care professionals to be able to deliver the job that they want to deliver, coupled with positive patient outcomes and feedback has been the greatest reward over the last 39 years.
The hydration project ticks all those boxes as it has empowered care home staff, carers managers and catering personal. It has enthused health care professionals, who took ownership, delivering the project and real patient outcomes.
Stuart retired from the NHS in 2024 very unsuccessfully and is now working with the Rotherham GP federation on redesigning diabetes, heart failure and chronic pain pathways and a few more.
