I graduated from the University of Bristol and performed resident doctor rotations in the Southwest of England, Australia and Yorkshire. Currently, I am a practicing academic neurologist focusing on dysfunctional metabolism in Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. My research aims develop future treatments and biomarkers for dementia, particularly Alzheimer’s disease and post-stroke cognitive impairment. I take a translational approach to understanding metabolic deficits in Alzheimer's disease working with patient derived cell models, brain imaging techniques (PET and MRI), large language models, and neuropsychological data sets.

My clinical research focuses on improving brain health in memory disorders and cognitive assessment in conditions including Cerebrovascular Disease, and Spinal Cord Injury. With colleagues in Mental Trusts in Oxford and Manchester and Physical Health trusts in Brighton and Sussex, in collaboration with Lilly, we are aiming to develop a national guidance for the establishment of CSF analysis in memory clinics throughout the country.

Since 2024 I have been a Senior Clinical Lecturer in Neurology at the University of Sheffield, and an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
