Sarah Browne
Sarah has been Chief Nursing Officer at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) for the past six years, responsible for Allied Health Professional Leadership and holds the role of Director of Infection Prevention and Control. A highly respected leader, she was a recent finalist earlier in 2025 for the Queen’s Nursing Institute's William Rathbone X Award for Executive Nurse Leadership.
Sarah brings extensive experience from across the health system, including previous senior roles in mental health services. Throughout her career, Sarah has championed integrated approaches to care across complex systems. At HCT, she has led multiple clinical transformation projects and was Senior Responsible Officer for Mass Vaccination Centres across two Integrated Care Systems, working in partnership with ICBs, provider trusts, local authorities and the voluntary and community sector. She also plays a national role as an active member of the Community Nursing Clinical Reference Group.
Sarah is widely recognised for her strategic leadership, deep clinical insight, and commitment to service improvement. In 2021, she was awarded the prestigious title of Queen’s Nurse by The Queen’s Nursing Institute in recognition of her contribution to nursing and community care.
