Dr Sanhita Chakrabarti

Deputy Chief Medical Officer, ICB Women’s Health Champion and Clinical Lead, Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board

Dr. Sanhita Chakrabarti is Deputy Chief Medical Officer and Women’s Health Champion at Bedfordshire Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board. With her leadership role as Women's Health Champion in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes ICB , she is leading on establishing women's health networks to deliver the right care for the right woman at the right time. She is a part-time practicing clinician in Milton Keynes and works in services for women’s sexual and reproductive health. She has extensive experience in working as a clinician in the world of women’s and children’s health and public health. She has held senior leadership roles in the NHS as well as in local government. She has experience of working with Department of Health and has contributed to regional and national task groups aiming to improve outcomes for women and children . She has led on and delivered on complex transformational programs which include- programs to tackle inequalities in infant mortality, tackling smoking amongst mothers, Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health Hatfield vision amongst others. As clinical leader with training in leadership management and quality improvement she is passionate about using clinical and public health skills to deliver on population level outcomes and tackle health inequalities particularly for women and children. Dr. Chakrabarti is a trainer and trains GPs and Registrars in Public Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health. She is a mother to two children 21 and 23 years of age. In her spare time Dr. Chakrabarti enjoys working on her allotment and dressmaking.
