Sam manages the policy and public affairs work of Locality, the national membership network supporting local community organisations to be strong and successful.
He leads on Locality's membership of the government's VCSE Health and Wellbeing Alliance, ensuring that local community organisations are represented in the creation of national health and care policy. Locality's work in this area has spanned the role of the VCSE in sustainable neighbourhood health ecosystems, how 'community anchor organisations' can support more impactful illness prevention services based on the wider determinants of health, and the value of community spaces in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.
Sam also oversees Locality's 'Keep it Local' campaign, engaging local authorities to invest in and commission local community organisations to provide services that transform lives.
Sam's career has spanned social justice, community development, and corporate responsibility, across policy, strategy, research, and programming. He holds an LLB in Law and an LLM in Human Rights Law from University College London.
