Sallyann Sutton
Sallyann has worked as nurse for almost 40 years and now works as professional officer for SAPHNA. Sallyann is proud to hold the title of Queen's Nurse and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson NHS Senior Healthcare Leadership Award. Sallyann has worked for 33 years of her career in public health nursing, qualifying as a specialist community public health nurse (school nursing) and during that time leading school nursing, health visiting and teenage pregnancy services. Sallyann’s pursued her passion specialising in children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing, completing an MSc in Child and Family Mental Health and a PGA in Public Mental Health. Sallyann’s focus has been promotion, prevention and early intervention for mental health and wellbeing, including whole school approaches, partnership working, co-production, training and development, pathways, and interventions. Sallyann has worked in a range of roles to support children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing including regional project lead for the Targeted Mental Health in Schools, a member of the expert panel for the development of the handbook for Mental Health Support Teams in School and a topic expert for NICE contributing to the development of Public Health guidance on social and emotional wellbeing in schools.
