Peter Sinden
Peter Sinden is a technology and business leader with a 30-year track record of delivering digital transformation at national scale.
He has held senior technology leadership roles across key NHS Arm’s Length Bodies, including Monitor, NHS Improvement and the Care Quality Commission, where he championed the use of cloud, data and agile delivery to improve outcomes, reduce friction, and enable frontline-led improvement.
Most recently, as CIO at Genomics England, Peter played a pivotal role in the national rollout of the technology infrastructure that enabled genomic medicine to become part of routine NHS care. His work bridged deep tech innovation and clinical practice, helping deliver personalised treatment pathways. Over 90% of the health data collected was made securely available to support cutting-edge research into rare diseases, cancer, and COVID-19.
As co-lead for the National Information Board’s workstream on data standards, Peter helped shape foundational strategies for data and platforms—advancing the transformation of care, research, and population health.
Today, he advises public bodies, healthtech ventures and technology providers on strategy, integration, and operating model design. He is a passionate advocate for a future-facing NHS—connected, data-driven, and relentlessly focused on patient value.
