Mr Omar Yanni
GIRFT south-east regional lead for trauma and orthopaedics and south-east regional lead for MSK for NHS England and NHS Improvement,
East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust
Omar has been a consultant orthopaedic and spine surgeon in East Kent since 2002, and became the clinical director for the department in 2015, when he was involved in launching the trust's T&O Transformation Project, setting out to transform staffing, and the trauma and elective services.
Central to this was the relocation of elective services from Ashford and Margate to Canterbury, a project carried out as part of the GIRFT pilots to demonstrate the benefits of separating elective from non-elective services.
