Olesya qualified as a doctor from University of Cambridge in 2002, working as a hospital doctor in Nottingham until she made the move to General Practice in 2006. She has been a GP partner at Berkeley Place Surgery in Cheltenham for nearly ten years.

Olesya has an extensive background in teaching and training. She became actively involved in Primary Care Networks (groups of GP practices working together) at their onset, seeing them as an opportunity to enhance primary care workforce, productivity and reduce health inequalities. Olesya is a PCN representative on the Gloucestershire ICB, strengthening the voice of primary care.
