Dr Matt Kearney
Dr Matt Kearney is Executive Clinical Director at UCLPartners, a health innovation partnership serving 5 million people in London and Essex. Matt leads the Cardiovascular Health Programme to transform prediction, detection and management of cardiovascular risk in order to prevent heart attacks and strokes at scale. Current innovations include the award winning UCLP Proactive Care Frameworks that support at scale implementation of new models of primary care to transform management of the high risk conditions for CVD, and CVDACTION – an intelligent data tool for primary care to identify, stratify and optimise care in people with high risk conditions.
From 2016-2019, Matt was National Clinical Director for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and led development of the NHS Long Term Plan CVD Prevention Programme. He is co-founder of CVDPREVENT, the national audit for CVD prevention. He also practices as a GP in Shropshire.
Previously Matt worked as advisor to the Department of Health respiratory programme, and was a member of the NICE Public Health Interventions Advisory Committee from 2005 to 2013. He has a master’s degree in public health and is a Fellow of the Royal College of GPs and the Royal College of Physicians.
