Dr Matt Kearney is Executive Clinical Director for Cardiovascular Health at UCLPartners where he has led development of the innovative Proactive Care Frameworks. These support primary care teams to restore and transform management in cardiovascular and other conditions as we emerge from COVID. From 2016-2019, Matt was National Clinical Director for Cardiovascular Disease Prevention and led development of the NHS Long Term Plan CVD Prevention Programme. He is co-founder of CVDPREVENT, the new national audit for CVD prevention. He also practices as a GP in Shropshire.
Previously Matt worked as advisor to the Department of Health respiratory programme, and was a member of the NICE Public Health Interventions Advisory Committee from 2005 to 2013. He has a master’s degree in public health and is a Fellow of the Royal College of GPs and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
