Lukas Oppegaard

Turning Point
Lukas Oppegaard completed treatment with the Herefordshire Drug and Alcohol service in May 2024. Whilst in treatment he volunteered as a service user representative and sat on Turning Point’s National Service User Council. Having successfully completed treatment Lukas completed a Level 2 qualification in Peer Mentoring and volunteered supporting the delivery of the service’s groupwork programme. In November 2024, Lukas gained paid work with Turning Point as a Peer Support Worker 2 days a week. In this role he is learning how to complete assessments, facilitating group sessions and once he has completed this training he will hold a small caseload of clients.
