Kim Parker MSc
Kim Parker is a registered mental health nurse with over 43 years of expertise, primarily in inpatient care and holds a master’s degree in Managing Diversity. She has spent nine years in a quality improvement role and seven years working in a secure forensic setting. She is currently the lead senior nurse implementing culture of care initiative at SHSC.
Receiving two positive practice in Mental Health Awards: one in 2014 for her work in reducing stigma and another in 2018 as part of a team recognised in ensuring safe patient care. Kim is a firm believer of meaningful co-production and that by working together and maintaining a focus on equity, we can create lasting, positive change in health service delivery. She firmly believes in equal access and fair treatment for everyone.
In addition, Kim serves as the clinical lead for an international health partnership with Gulu in northern Uganda, a region recovering from conflict. This partnership, which has been running for 12 years, focusing on improving patient safety in the area.
