Kat Lay is the health editor at The Times. On the health beat, which she took on in 2014, she has covered stories ranging from new advances in cancer treatment to striking NHS workers, and the Covid-19 pandemic. She is the winner of a Medical Journalists Association award for news story of the year for her coverage of sexual harassment in surgery. She joined the paper as a graduate trainee in 2012, having previously worked at the News of the World and the People newspapers.
