Julia Newton is Medical Director of the Academic Health Science Network North East and North Cumbria, Professor of Ageing and Medicine at Newcastle University and a Consultant Physician at Newcastle Hospitals. Over the last 3 years she has led the NHSE commissioned National ‘Optimising Lipid Management and Identification of Familial Hypercholesterolaemia’ Programme on behalf of the AHSN Network which has included supporting the implementation of novel therapies into the AAC/NICE endorsed lipid management guideline using an innovative population health approach.
