Jinjer Kandola MBE

Chief Executive, North London NHS Foundation Trust

Jinjer Kandola is an experienced NHS Chief Executive and has worked in the NHS for more than 35 years. Her experience covers both mental and physical healthcare at a senior level.

Jinjer’s background is in organisational development and cultural change. She was appointed Chief Executive of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust in July 2018 and also became Chief Executive of Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust in October 2021. The two organisations formally merged on 1 November 2024 to form the North London NHS Foundation Trust, providing all age mental health services across North London.

Following her appointment as Chief Executive at Barnet, Enfield and Haringey, she led the upgrading its CQC rating from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ in just over a year. Jinjer led the work to ensure a successful merger with Camden and Islington, forming the new Trust on 1 November. More broadly, Jinjer leads the organisation’s work to ensure high quality care for service users and a great place for all staff to work.

At system level, Jinjer is a member of the North Central London Integrated Care Board and the North Central London Health Alliance Board. At national level, she is a member of the NHS Employers Policy Board and the NHS / DHSC Social Partnership Forum.

The Health Service Journal (HSJ) listed Jinjer as one of their Top 50 Chief Executives in June 2024 and she was recognised for her outstanding contributions to mental health services and awarded an MBE in 2021.
