Ms Heidi Barnard
Heidi helps the NCA to understand their environmental impact, implementing systems to manage operational requirements whilst developing policy and strategy to deliver the on the broader NHS Net zero agenda, across direct and indirect impacts.
Heidi has worked in this field for 17 years, having started in the Manufacturing and Construction sector, she has experience in developing Resource action plans with DEFRA, collaborating with various Govt depts, implemented companywide ISO Management systems, sat on, and chaired various sustainability focus groups within trade bodies, nationally, internationally, and most importantly manages, develops, coaches and mentors' teams to deliver on their own aspirations.
Heidi is a keen open water swimmer, and cyclist, (keen not necessarily talented) she lives in West Yorkshire with her partner (and 3 cats) “I’m an outdoors type, especially enjoying exploring the natural environment. For me Sustainability is much more than a job, it is a personal choice about how I live my life and a commitment to the conscious, and present in the everyday choices and decisions I make, to bring authenticity to the people I interact with a pragmatic and impactful way.”
