Hasina Islam
With over 20 years' experience in the voluntary community sector, Hasina Islam is the Centre Manager at Ananna; supporting Bangladeshi women with safe, inclusive spaces, meaningful activities, and resources, particularly for survivors of domestic abuse and those needing mental health support.
Hasina is a passionate community activist, her lived experience of coerced marriage and teenage motherhood drives her work. A qualified Children’s Social Worker and IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor)., Hasina has influenced policy and strategies for Bangladeshi women in collaboration with councils, universities, and research projects. Hasina holds a Sociology degree from the University of Manchester and a Master’s in Social Work from Manchester Metropolitan University.
