George Webster
George is a 22 year old BAFTA award winning TV presenter, actor and dancer from Leeds. He made history when he became the first CBeebies presenter with Down Syndrome, quickly becoming a fixture on the channel and securing a place in the Radio Times most influential TV personalities in 2022.
He has starred in a number of Cbeebies programmes including Mr Tumble’s Busy Bus Day, Something Special, the CBeebies Panto and House Christmas Special. Aswell as winning a BAFTA in 2022 for Best Children’s TV Presenter, George also appeared on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, both of which were widely applauded as both ground-breaking and a hugely positive step for representing disability. This year has already seen George appear infront of 10,000 people at the launch of Leeds 2023 year od culture at Headingly Stadium
Away from Cbeebies George has had roles in films The Railway Children Returns, BEBE A.I, and S.A.M (for which he won best performance at the Oska Bright Film Festival) TV wise George has recently filmed on World on Fire and Casualty. He has also appeared on stage with the National Ensemble for Separate Doors Theatre Company aswell as working with Les 3 Soeurs in France.
George is an ambassador for Yorkshire Dance and has toured with The Talent Hub Dance Company aswell as being a long-standing part of Mesh Dance Company in Leeds. He is also a proud ambassador for Mencap and is recognised in the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100. George has also written a children’s picture book this year along with Claire Taylor and illustrated by Tim Budgen which was released on 2nd March.
