Funmi Vanessa Ullam

NHS Parent/Carer Entrepreneur, NHS Patient Entrepreneur Programme

Vanessa is a parent and carer to a child with Sickle Cell, and that lived experience is at the heart of everything she does.

By day, she works in the healthcare sector helping organisations adopt technology that improves patient outcomes & combats cyber threats. In her spare time (read: late nights and weekends), she co-founded Crescent Kids, a non-profit supporting children with Sickle Cell across the UK and Nigeria.

Vanessa is also building The Eli App, a digital health tool designed to help families like hers manage the realities of chronic illness. Her commitment to this work led to her selection for the NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, where she’s part of the patient cohort driving grassroots innovation in healthcare.
