Ewan is the Head of Medicines Optimisation at NHS Sunderland CCG and the Interim Lead Pharmacist for the North East and North Cumbria ICS. He is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society English national board and is a former Vice President of the Guild of Healthcare Pharmacists.

A pharmacist by background, Ewan has practiced in a number of clinical settings including in emergency and critical care, mental health, community pharmacy and stroke medicine. He has worked in a variety of organisations across the North East and South of England and in Scotland.
