Edna Robinson

Exec Chair, Greater Manchester Alternative Provider Collaborative

Edna Robinson is the Exec Chair of The GM Alternative Provider Collaborative and Chair of The Big Life Group.

She is an experienced Public systems leader and has held several NHS CEO positions including in a Primary Care Trust and an Acute NHS hospital Trust. She has been Chair of Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust.

Continually campaigning throughout her career for better services and systems to reduce health inequalities and social injustices. She was CEO of the GM Health Action Zone, the founder of the national platform NHS Networks and co-led The National Primary Care Commissioning Development Programme.

She was a health and social care policy advisor during the Brown/Blair era that established CCGs. She chaired the Virgin Health Market Readiness board

For the past 3 years she has been Executive Chair of the NHS Alternative Provider Collaborative in GM which is establishing a new provider voice and highlighting long standing issues of health inequity. It will be testing the appetite of GM health and Social care for new collaborative provider services.

Edna chairs The People’s Powerhouse for the North of England, a hugely successful social platform that drives the debate around devolution and social and economic justice.
