Dr Deb Lowe
Dr Deb Lowe is the National Clinical Director for Stroke Medicine at NHS England and Improvement, and Senior Clinical Advisor to the GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) Stroke Programme.
She has been a Consultant Stroke Physician and Geriatrician at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust since 2005. She has had many managerial and leadership roles within the Trust and had been Clinical Lead for Stroke for the Northwest Coast within the NHSE Strategic Clinical Networks and Senate from 2014-2019.
Since appointment to the National Clinical Director role in October 2019 she is keen to promote a culture of effective clinical engagement and leadership, accurate performance monitoring and the use of high quality data to drive sustainable quality improvement and delivery of the Long Term Plan Stroke Programme.
The GIRFT stroke programme has met with every stroke service in the country in the last 4 years to support quality improvement along the entire stroke pathway. Deb co-chairs the NHSE&I Stroke Delivery Board and is the clinical lead for the delivery of the Stroke Programme within the NHSE&I Long Term Plan.
