Dr Clare Morrison
Clare is Director of Engagement and Change at Healthcare Improvement Scotland. Her focus is to ensure meaningful, quality assured community engagement and innovative system change.
Clare has over 25 years’ experience in health care with a particular focus on quality improvement, inclusive engagement, co-design and enhancing access to services. She combines theoretical knowledge gained through qualifications including the Scottish Quality & Safety Fellowship and the US Intermountain Advanced Training Program in health care delivery improvement, with practical experience of creating and spreading services at a local and national level. This includes the NHS Scotland Near Me video consulting service and medicines safety innovations. Clare started her career as a pharmacist, held various senior pharmacist posts in NHS Highland and was previously the Director for Scotland at the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
Clare was awarded an MBE for services to health care in 2018, and an honorary Doctorate from the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2022 for her contribution to enhancing access to health services.
