Caroline Thickens
Caroline has worked in Public Health since 2005 and recently moved to Population Health as part of the Northamptonshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) in 2023. She has worked at both a local and regional level in Public Health and specialised in Public Health Intelligence to support improving data availability and evidence-based decision making. Caroline currently manages a Population Health team in the ICB working on projects with a focus on health inequalities, prevention and developing Population Health Management approaches. The Northamptonshire Population Health team partnered with Northamptonshire Black Communities Together (NBCT) and Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHFT), supported by Health Innovation East Midlands, to deliver a local Innovation for Healthcare Inequalities Project (InHIP). The project focussed on reducing inequalities by using both remote testing devices and Community Champions to identify undiagnosed Atrial Fibrillation and Hypertension within more deprived and ethnically diverse areas. As part of this work also building relationships between health care services and the communities and gaining an improved understanding of peoples lived experiences with local health care systems.
