Anthony joined Pennine Care as chief executive in April 2022.

Anthony was previously Regional Chief People Officer at NHS England and Improvement North West, and before that was Chief Accountable Officer at Salford Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for six years.

At Salford CCG Anthony led a successful team who achieved an NHS England and Improvement 'outstanding' rating every year.

Prior to his role in Salford, Anthony worked at Board and senior level in a range of NHS organisations in Greater Manchester and Cheshire and Merseyside.

Anthony has a deep and personal interest and passion for mental health services, which includes his previous work as a trustee of a mental health charity. In the early part of his career in a mental health organisation in the USA he led a programme of service user engagement to redesign community mental health services.

He sees our vision linking closely with the significant work he has led regionally around inequalities and inclusion.
