Alison Jones
Ali Jones started work in the NHS in September 1994 with Wigan Family Health Services Authority and Wigan Health Authority. Over the past 30+ years she has held roles in Primary Care Groups, Primary Care Trusts and most recently the Clinical Commissioning Group in Tameside & Glossop where she was Deputy Director of Commissioning for a number of years. She has been in her current role with the Cancer Alliance since January 2019.
The national focus on Early Cancer Diagnosis in recent years has played to Ali’s interest in stakeholder engagement, primary care, innovation, patient outcomes and strategic development – working with colleagues across Greater Manchester to design and deliver a strategy to achieve the Long Term Plan ambition of 75% early stage cancer diagnosis by 2028.
Ali lives in Saddleworth with her husband. They have 4 ‘grown up’ children, 2 cats and an allotment. She is a rugby league fan, supporting her home town club Wigan Warriors. In her spare time she enjoys long walks, travel, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
