Alison Jones
Alison started in the NHS in 1994 working in a Family Health Services Authority supporting GPs and primary care in the early models of ‘locality commissioning’ and primary care development. She has held roles in Health Authorities, Primary Care Groups/Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups and was in the Tameside & Glossop locality for a number of years as Deputy Director of Commissioning. She moved into the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance in January 2019 in a role which supported the Alliance and the 10 CCGs with cancer commissioning and since that time has worked with the Alliance and colleagues across the system to develop a programme of work on Early Cancer Diagnosis and Inequalities. Alison lives in Saddleworth with a family of 4 almost grown up children and is true to her Wigan roots, supporting Wigan Warriors Rugby League club.
