Using digital innovation to deliver a net-zero NHS
The NHS is now in the second year of delivering its strategy to reach net zero by working towards targets to cut the emissions it directly causes by 2040, and reduce the emissions it influences by 2045. Innovation across the whole of the NHS will play a crucial part in achieving these targets.
In this session we will hear about the opportunities digital transformation presents in tackling the climate crisis and how, across the NHS, organisations are innovating to deliver impact. We will hear from the national chief information officer on the ambitions for digital innovation to reach net zero; and the deputy director for AI award from NHS England and NHS Improvement. We will also explore Health Education England’s sustainability e-toolkit and hear from a Welsh Health Board member on their digital and net-zero ambitions.
