The importance of early diagnosis: influenza and cardiac initiatives

Quality, transformation and innovation , Supporter session

This two-part session will focus on early diagnosis in flu and heart failure.

We will focus on the importance of diagnosing flu patients early and encouraging the audience to think about the state of current patient pathways and potential improvements. We will run through a 'test and treat' case study for flu, which will highlight the results from early diagnosis and treatment.

Heart failure patients are often diagnosed a late stage in their disease pathway following an admission to hospital, contributing to a significant burden to both patients and the healthcare system. This session will cover initiatives to improve the early detection of heart failure so that patients can have quicker access to evidence-based treatments and potentially avoid hospital admission.

This session is supported by Roche Diagnostics.
