The cost of race discrimination – and the benefits of tackling it
The price paid by individuals and communities impacted by racism are incalculable and should be all the evidence we need to drive change. But how can the economic argument also focus minds?
This session, from the NHS Race and Health Observatory, will highlight how health and care leaders can learn from people with lived experience of racial discrimination. It brings together a diverse panel of experts to debate the issue, showcase novel approaches, and explore practical solutions to inequity. Led by Marie Gabriel CBE, it will culminate in a new publication for healthcare leaders highlighting the implications and real-term costs, both human and financial, of health inequalities and the importance of tackling them to deliver quality care, safety, compassion and a fair experience for all.
