The Artificial Intelligence in Health and Care Award is a programme within the NHS AI Lab. It is making up to £140 million available over four years to accelerate the testing and evaluation of technologies most likely to meet the aims set out in the NHS Long Term Plan. The Award is split across four ‘Phases’ based on the maturity of the product and 79 projects were funded over the first two rounds of the Award.

The first round of 42 Award winners were announced in September 2020 and have been implementing their projects for over a year. We have collated feedback from these Awardees on the key barriers and enablers to development, implementation and adoption of AI technologies in the UK and will share our findings during this session and provide a case study of the experience of Ultromics, a first round Awardee.
