Taking a flexible approach to the total workforce

15 Jun 2023
Exchange hall
Main stage - panel , People , Supporter session

The NHS workforce has been under increasing pressure since the pandemic, and workload and wellbeing remain pressing concerns.

Against this backdrop, this panel session will consider the concept of ‘one workforce’ and explore the following ways to optimise the people potential across health and care systems:

  • Championing the flexible workforce – valuing their education, training and career pathways in the same way as substantive staff.
  • Building better staff banks – taking an innovative approach to the use of staff banks including collaborative banks across integrated care systems.
  • Improving retention through flexibility, inclusion and enhancing belonging.

This session is sponsored by NHS Professionals.
