NHS equality, diversity and inclusion improvement plan
Existing evidence, including from the NHS Staff Survey, Workforce Race Equality Standard and Workforce Disability Equality Standard, has highlighted disparities in the experience of NHS staff with protected characteristics. Evidence also shows the benefits to productivity, patient satisfaction and outcomes from improving equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
The first NHS EDI improvement plan will set out actions for all NHS organisations to address inequalities and drive improvement, underpinned by an accountability framework and metrics for measuring impact.
