The women’s health strategy for England sets out to improve how the health and care system listens to women. Although women in the UK live longer on average than men, the evidence shows they spend a greater proportion of their lives in ill health or disability.

With speakers from Health Innovation Wessex, NHS Dorset, Bournemouth University and Dorset Women CIC, this session will cover how the Dorset integrated care system has taken a system approach to this work. It will explore:

• why women’s health is important
• Dorset’s needs and priorities
• how innovations were identified, adopted and aligned with needs and priorities
• benefits for the workforce and the women of Dorset
• the impact of a system approach
• how others can influence nationally with local work.

This session will explore a new and impactful approach to a well-established problem and will be of benefit to other systems working on the same needs and priorities.
