Urgent cancer care: everyone's business
This session will highlight the work of Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance (CMCA) in partnership with ICB urgent and emergency care (UEC) to transform urgent cancer care (UCC) in the region. It will focus on bridging the gap between unplanned urgent care and planned cancer care to deliver timely, effective and equitable treatment for patients
We will explore the patients behind the change, the move to an integrated cancer hotline and scaling successful principles aimed at reducing emergency department referrals and utilising care closer to home. We will look at the work done to put cancer on the UEC agenda by linking cancer care with community services through the use of innovative pathways.
