The Mental Health Act reforms: what do they mean for the health and care system?
The new mental health bill is expected to gain Royal Assent this summer with implementation over the next ten years. For the reforms to be successful, it will need a whole-system approach including expansion of supported housing and community provision; increased workforce and modernisation of the mental health estate; redesigned urgent and emergency care pathways and improved registers for people with learning disabilities and autism.
This session will outline what the reforms really mean for the heath and care system, how systems can start preparing and how it will positively impact patients.
