Maximising the role of physical activity to support people with long-term conditions
Physical activity – or movement – is an underused tool in healthcare, yet it has a major role to play in the prevention, management and treatment of long-term conditions. Hosted by the Richmond Group of Charities and with lived experience at its heart, this session will look at how movement can be leveraged in policy and practice to help achieve the government’s health mission, deliver an NHS fit for the future and make the shift towards community-based, preventative care.
Panellists will share experiences and insights from engaging local and national health systems as policymakers, professionals, partners and patients, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of embedding movement into healthcare, and offer examples of why and how it can improve care and outcomes.
